Manchester United French international, Anthony Martial has claimed that Marcus Rashford is a better player than himself. Rashford, who took advantage of Rooney’s injury back in February, has impressed football pundits around the world with his performance.
The 19-year old made the most of his matches and scored a famous double against Midtjylland in Europe and another double a week later against Arsenal in the Premier League.
In an interview with a French magazine, Anthony Martial stated that Rashford has been playing better in the number 9 role and that he scores a lot of goals from that position. He believes that Rashford has benefited from the injuries to other key players in the team, and he is making a name for himself.
Martial sincerely wishes that Rashford will continue score goals so as to help them win important games in the future.
Martial himself has attracted praise from football pundits. When Manchester United signed him during the summer, there were a lot of people questioning the price of the young French player. But, Anthony Martial has silenced those critics well with his performance so far this season.
Indeed, the former Monaco player has scored 13 goals for Manchester United this season and could have done better if Van Gaal did not play him on the wings.
